CDIF4EOSC at EOSC France 2026: Engaging with the EOSC community

September 11, 2026
On 11 September 2026, several members of the CDIF4EOSC consortium participated in EOSC France 2026, hosted at Inria in Paris. The workshop focused on the implementation of the future French National Node within the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Federation.
The event provided an opportunity for the French and European research communities to exchange perspectives on the development of the EOSC Federation and discuss the vision, scope and priorities of its future French Node.
Exploring the future French EOSC Node
A central focus of EOSC France 2026 was the development of the future French National Node and its integration within the broader EOSC Federation.
Discussions addressed the role and priorities of the future Node while providing insights into the approaches adopted by existing and emerging EOSC Nodes.
The programme notably showcased perspectives and use cases from Data Terra, EOSC Finland, EOSC Switzerland and the EGI Foundation, providing participants with different examples of how Nodes can contribute to the development of the wider EOSC ecosystem.
These exchanges provided an opportunity to discuss the next steps towards a more connected European research environment and the role that national and thematic infrastructures can play within it.
A strong connection with CDIF4EOSC
The discussions held during EOSC France 2026 strongly resonate with the objectives of CDIF4EOSC.
The project aims to strengthen cross-domain interoperability across research infrastructures and the EOSC ecosystem, supporting more effective exchange and reuse of FAIR – Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable – research data across disciplines and communities.
As the EOSC Federation develops, ensuring that data, services and research infrastructures can interact effectively across disciplinary and organisational boundaries will remain an important consideration.
By advancing the implementation of the Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework (CDIF), CDIF4EOSC contributes to this broader effort to facilitate interoperability and enable research resources to be exchanged and reused across different domains.
Engaging with the EOSC community
Participation in events such as EOSC France 2026 provides an important opportunity for CDIF4EOSC partners to follow developments within the EOSC Federation and engage with the organisations and communities involved in shaping its implementation.
The workshop also offered a valuable setting for exchanging perspectives on common challenges and exploring connections between ongoing initiatives in open science, FAIR data, research infrastructures and interoperability.
The CDIF4EOSC consortium would like to thank Inria, the organisers and all participants for bringing the community together and fostering these important discussions on the future of the EOSC Federation
